Firstly, I would like to introduce myself as your new Chairman, Keith Hillsmith. I have been a member of the tennis club and served on the committee for several years. I have lived in the village since 1999 and take an active role in the local community. The committee and I look forward to moving the club forward over the coming years. Our Open day is this Sunday and we have kept the subscription prices the same as last year. I do believe we offer great value for money in the best location of any tennis club in the county.
I would like to thank you all for your continued support for the club over the past year.
2017 has seen some significant changes with the committee with Barry Chapman standing down as chairman. I would like to pass on all our thanks to Barry who has overseen the club’s beginning and the recent improvements. The club would not be the success it is now without his dedication and hard work. I look forward to his continued support and guidance as your chairman in the future.
John Sabberton is standing down after many years as treasurer. His financial competence has left the club in a very strong position and I would like to thank him on your behalf for his all his hard work. We welcome Sally Scullion as the new treasurer and I wish her all the best in her new role.
I would also like to thank all the committee members: Alison Lauder, Wendy Baxter, Jenny Caswell, Paul Dudgeon, Neil Hanes, Penny McQuade, Sue Leggate, Chris Sabberton and Bridgett Scott for all their time and effort during the last year.
